Once again, members of the IMSE research group participated in the 11th Multidisciplinary Conference on Educational Research (CIMIE). This year, the conference was held in Granada on July 4th and 5th, 2024.

Oriol Ríos' Research Stay at the Teachers College of Columbia University
IMSE researcher Dr. Oriol Rios carried out a research stay at Teachers College at Columbia University, New York, during the months of June, July, and August 2024, funded by the program Research stays for senior academic and/or research staff in foreign institutions from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of the Government of Spain.

New cooperation project by URV Solidària led by IMSE with Senegal
Carme Garcia, a member of the IMSE research group, will lead the URV Solidària cooperation project titled "Use of communicative methodology for the development of a 'map of opportunities' in the Mbour area of Senegal." The project will last 18 months and has received funding of €4,940. Six members of IMSE are involved, along with two members of the Diocesan Delegation for Migration of Senegal.

INDOVIG 2021: Prevention of gender-based violence through evidence-based training
Members of the IMSE research group participate in the project from the INDOVIG 2021 call of AGAUR titled "Prevention of gender-based violence through evidence-based training." The project has been led by Professor Rosa Valls, from the UB, and received €9,000 to contribute to the improvement of teaching quality in gender-based violence. The project has involved UB, UdG, and URV.

Participation in CIMIE23: "The scientific evidence that improves educational outcomes"
As every year, most members of the IMSE research group participated in July 2023 in the XI CIMIE, International Multidisciplinary Conference on Educational Research. Held at the University of Cantabria, Santander, at the conference, members of IMSE were able to share the progress of research on the Roma population, New Alternative Masculinities, LGTBI+ youth, among others.

"Learning Space": Evidence-based academic support volunteering that delivers results
The Educational Plan of the Reus City Council, together with the consolidated IMSE (Social Impact and Education) research group from the Department of Pedagogy at the Rovira i Virgili University and the Roma Women's Association Drom Kotar Mestipen, promotes the Successful Educational Action: Extension of Learning Time, concretized in what we call: Learning Space.

Participation in the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER 2023)
6 members of the IMSE research group participated in the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) from August 21st to 25th in Glasgow, Scotland. The University of Glasgow hosted 3,000 researchers from all levels and fields linked to education in a dialogical environment centered around science.

Cadena SER Reus Interview with Dr. Oriol Ríos on masculinity and attractiveness
On April 27th, Cadena SER Reus invited Professor Oriol Rios, principal investigator of the IMSE group, to discuss what scientific evidence says about the roots of masculinities and their connection with bullying and gender-based violence.

Diario de Tarragona publishes the new Ministry Guide "Dialogic Learning and School Coexistence"
On May 16th, Diario de Tarragona published a news article in which it disseminated the new Guide "Dialogic Learning and School Coexistence". It is an initiative by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, which gathers the experience of educational institutions from 14 countries over 25 years in this area.
