INDOVIG 2021: Prevention of gender-based violence through evidence-based training
Members of the IMSE research group participate in the project from the INDOVIG 2021 call of AGAUR titled "Prevention of gender-based violence through evidence-based training." The project has been led by Professor Rosa Valls, from the UB, and received €9,000 to contribute to the improvement of teaching quality in gender-based violence. The project has involved UB, UdG, and URV.
In the final phase of the project, an online conference was held with more than 60 participants, where the main results were presented, and the principal investigator of IMSE, Dr. Oriol Rios, participated. Additionally, a final report and a guide of successful actions at universities for the prevention of gender-based violence and equality will be written.
Among the many teaching actions developed, IMSE members highlight the organization of seminars for students of Education, Social Education, Pedagogy, Sociology, and other degrees to get to know and contribute to the SAPPHO citizen platform for scientific evidence on gender: https://socialimpactscience.org/gender/. Additionally, before the project, an annual seminar has been held with the book in hand, "Feminism is for Everybody" by bell hooks, where students discuss the contributions of the book; furthermore, special theoretical sessions with researchers expert in gender-based violence are held.
