Upstanding through digital media
At Centre for Digital Youth Care we use the upstander approach in many aspects of what we do, but in a quite informal manner. When there is no COVID we tour schools and workplaces of Denmark, giving presentations on the digital lives of youth. We are in direct contact with over 6.000 students and over 4.000 professionals each year talking about life online.

Safe spaces for LGBTIQ youth: understanding online gender-based violence
The UP4Diversity project aims to help prevent violence against the LGBTIQ community, in particular LGBTIQ youth. 'Violence' has many interpretations, and it is important to be clear about what we mean by it. For UP4Diversity, and for many of the partners, educators and youth workers it seeks to support, violence goes beyond physical attacks: it also includes online abuse, an issue that has only gained importance as the Covid-19 pandemic has moved most - if not all - of our social interactions online.

Up4Diversity: The European Network
On Tuesday 23 February, UP4Diversity formally launched its European Network.
The project partners hope that, over the coming years, this network will offer a safe space for discussion and dialogue, allowing us to join forces for the prevention of violence against LGBTI+ youth.

Why and what is the Up4Diversity project?
Tackling homophobic and transphobic violence is a priority across Europe. Youth, and professionals working with youth, play an essential role in this social transformation. To combat all forms of violence against LGBTIQ youth, educational and youth organizations must be committed to its prevention and overcoming. Empowering youth and their educators to intervene in violence situations and implementing evidence-based actions is crucial for building a diverse and egalitarian society.
