Up4Diversity: The European Network

On Tuesday 23 February, UP4Diversity formally launched its European Network.

The project partners hope that, over the coming years, this network will offer a safe space for discussion and dialogue, allowing us to join forces for the prevention of violence against LGBTI+ youth.

The European Network will offer its members the following opportunities:

  • Stand-ups: network meetings where partners will find a space to present their work, ask and answer questions, and let us at UP4Diversity know what we can do to support your objectives. These meetings are designed to connect academics, advocates and educators through open discussion.
  • Masterclasses: we will invite experts to share their expertise with the group, allowing us to build our skills and fine-tune our work. Masterclasses will be organised on demand, whenever partners feel a specific gap in knowledge, practice or skills should be addressed.
  • Match-making: members are invited to exchange details so new connections can be made and potential partnerships can be explored. As more and more of us are working on these issues, it's important to come together and be strategic about the use of our resources and opportunities - we hope to enable exactly that.

Beyond this, we hope the European Network will give us an opportunity to share project updates and research findings. It is important to all of us at UP4Diversity that the work we do positively impacts LGBTI+ prevention in schools, youth organisations and society more broadly. To achieve that, we want to keep in close contact with the partners we seek to support. Their insights, inputs and needs will continue to inform where we go next.

Further network updates will follow soon. If you would like to join us, please reach out to Lotte Geunis at lotte.geunis(ELIMINAR)@kuleuven.be or up4diversity@gmail.com.
