Final conference of the European Project Hei4Diversity: presentation of results
On December 16th, the final conference of the ERASMUS+ project led by the MEDIS-URV group (since 2023 IMSE, Social Impact and Education) Hei4Diversity Capacities to Prevent and Respond to any Form of Violence against the LGBTQI+ community in Europe (2019-2021) was held.
MEDIS-URV (since 2023 IMSE, Social Impact and Education) coordinated the work carried out by the international consortium formed by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain), CESIE (Italy), University Degli Studi di Palermo (Italy), University of Cyprus (Cyprus), ACCEPT-LESBIES, OMOFYLOFILOI, AMFISEXOUALIKOI, TRANS (LOAT) KYPROS (Cyprus), and Akademia Pedagogiki Specjalnej im. M. Grzegorzewskiej (Poland).
The first result of Hei4Diversity has been an in-depth comparative study by country on the existing measures for the prevention of violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Europe, which can be consulted and downloaded on the website: https://imse.urv.cat/hei4diversity/comparative-study/
The final result was presented at the conference: a training course designed to equip various members of the university community (faculty, administration and services staff, and students) with knowledge and tools for designing, implementing, and evaluating action protocols to effectively address the care and protection of the LGBTQI+ community. The course is available in the 5 project languages (Spanish, English, Italian, Polish, and Greek) and can be downloaded here: https://imse.urv.cat/hei4diversity/training-course/
The final conference was a success, as reflected on social media: https://twitter.com/Hei4Diversity. It is expected that the impact of the final result will continue to grow as it is disseminated to all European universities, ensuring that all can benefit from this training that guarantees the creation of a diverse university community where the LGBTQI+ community is protected and included in various social spheres.
