Oriol Rios, principal investigator of IMSE, invited as an expert in violence prevention by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission
The consolidated research group IMSE - Social Impact and Education from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology (FCEP) was invited on March 20th by the Joint Research Center of the European Commission. The Joint Research Center, located in Italy and with more than 2,000 researchers, is the science and knowledge service of the European Commission that conducts research to provide independent scientific advice and support to European Union policies.
In this context, Dr. Oriol Ríos, professor at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology and leader of IMSE, gave the lecture: "Upstanders, allies and friendship: Effective Strategies to combat bullying against LGBTIQ+ people", focused on analyzing effective strategies for preventing school bullying against LGBTIQ+ individuals.
The session allowed for scientific dialogue with different researchers from the center on the best ways to address sexual and gender diversity through research that will enable the establishment of European policies based on scientific evidence that improve the lives of individuals belonging to the LGBTIQ+ community.
