Training in Bystander Intervention and the Dialogic Model to Prevent Violence Against LGBTIQ+ Youth (April–May, Online and Free)
Do you work with young people in formal or non-formal institutions? Do you want to learn evidence-based knowledge on how to help change their culture and move towards zero violence?
Whether you work or participate in a high school, a university, or an LGBTI, youth or leisure organisation, this training is for you.
At Up4Diversity (European REC Programme Project) we have a clear purpose: to offer a limited and diverse group of people evidence-based knowledge and skills that may help increase success in preventing and taking a stand against any form of violence, especially that directed at LGBTI youth.
Bystander intervention and the Dialogic Model - the intervention of all community members against violence - have proven to be key, and our training focuses on teaching this approach.

From the Up4Diversity European project, we have organised this same training in 5 countries.
In Spain, it will consist of 3 synchronous online sessions.
There will be 2 parallel and independent events, both in April-May:
- Event 1 on Wednesdays 20, 27, 4 (17:00-19:30)
- Event 2 on Thursdays 21, 28, 5 (17:00-19:30)
Session 1: LGBTIQ+ conceptualisation, legal framework and rights; LGBTI-phobic violence; introduction to the upstander approach
Session 2: Upstander intervention approach; what is behind violence; preventive socialisation of gender-based violence
Session 3: Community involvement in violence prevention, dialogic model; dialogic gathering based on a scientific article
The training will follow a dialogic approach: presentations will be open to questions and comments; and dialogue-based activities will be proposed to put the contents into practice.
We have limited places; therefore, and given that the project aims to achieve social impact, we will prioritise participants who genuinely wish to promote change with the youth they work with and/or within their educational institutions.
A certificate of participation will be awarded to participants who attend at least 2 of the 3 sessions and complete the individual task.
Kind regards,
Dr. Oriol Rios, Up4Diversity project.
