Spreading the word: UP4Diversity’s International Training Workshop
One of UP4Diversity's key objectives is to share the project findings with a wider audience, so that teachers, youth workers and in particular young people in each of the partner countries can benefit from the upstander approach.
Since its launch in September 2020, UP4Diversity has built a wealth of knowledge and expertise, reviewed and endorsed by its Advisory Committee and European Network members. Next up: putting this into practice.
To maximise impact, UP4Diversity is opting for the tried and tested 'train the trainer' approach. On 23 November, representatives from Accept, the Centre for Digital Pedagogik, the KU Leuven and the University of Cyprus will join the project coordinators at the University of Rovira I Virgili in Tarragona, Spain. As it stands, Covid19 measures allow the project partners to meet in person for the first time - a nice change from the Zoom meetings to date, warmly welcomed by all!

Concretely, UP4Diversity project partners will work through the six modules of the Up4Diversity Training Materials For Education Professionals To Stop and Prevent Violence Against LGBTIQ+ Youth, fine-tuning a didactical approach that all partners are comfortable employing. Naturally, the concept and implementation for each of the national workshops - in Cyprus, Denmark, Flanders and Spain - is likely to take a slightly different form, shaped by national needs and practices.
UP4Diversity will share all opportunities for training with its community and warmly invites expressions of interests for these national training workshops. A brief reflection on the international workshop will be shared with the European Network at the Monday 29 November Masterclass, along with details on the national workshops.
